Good Morning, Traders!β¦π
U.S. stock futures inched higher on Wednesday as anticipation grew that the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates at its upcoming meeting. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2%, the S&P 500 gained 0.1%, and the Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.2%.
Markets rallied on Tuesday following the release of the July Consumer Price Index report. Although inflation ticked up, it came in below expectations, helping push both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq to new record highs. The softer-than-expected data reinforced hopes for a rate cut in September, especially as recent labor market data shows signs of weakness.
Investors now turn their attention to more economic updates later this week. The Producer Price Index is due out on Thursday, followed by retail sales data on Friday, both of which could further influence the Fedβs next move.
