Good Morning, Traders!…👋
U.S. stock futures were flat Monday as investors awaited fresh signals from renewed trade negotiations between the U.S. and China in London. The talks follow a phone call last week between President Trump and Chinese President Xi, raising hopes for a potential easing of tensions and a path toward a new tariff deal.
Markets closed last week on a strong note, buoyed by upbeat labor data that helped ease recession fears sparked by Trump’s aggressive tariff agenda earlier this spring. The S&P 500 ended the week higher, appearing to shake off recent volatility.
Now, attention turns to whether high-level diplomacy can revive the momentum seen in the Geneva pact struck in mid-May. Since then, relations have deteriorated, with both nations accusing each other of violating the truce and escalating pressure across multiple fronts.
With global growth on the line, investors are closely watching whether this round of talks yields meaningful progress—or further economic strain.
