Good Morning, Traders!…👋
U.S. stock futures were mostly unchanged Friday, as investors awaited the outcome of upcoming trade talks between the U.S. and China — a potential turning point in the ongoing trade war. Dow futures edged down 0.2%, S&P 500 futures hovered near the flatline, and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.1%.
Markets are watching closely as officials head to Geneva for negotiations this weekend, following Thursday’s rally sparked by the announcement of a U.S.-UK trade deal.
According to Bloomberg, the White House is considering lowering tariffs below 60% as a goodwill gesture, which China may reciprocate. President Trump has struck a hopeful tone this week, calling the discussions “substantive” and suggesting current 145% tariffs on Chinese goods could be reduced.
