Good Morning, Traders!…👋

U.S. stock futures plunged Monday as markets digested President Donald Trump’s sweeping new tariffs against Canada, Mexico, and China.

Over the weekend, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, with an additional 10% levy on Canadian energy products. Meanwhile, Chinese goods also faced a new 10% tariff, further escalating trade tensions.

The U.S. dollar strengthened following the announcement, as analysts warned that higher tariffs could push inflation higher—potentially reducing the Federal Reserve’s urgency for future rate cuts. Elsewhere, oil prices climbed on concerns that tariffs could disrupt energy supplies to the U.S., the world’s largest crude consumer. However, global demand worries limited gains. Meanwhile, cryptocurrencies tumbled, as risk appetite waned amid growing trade uncertainties.
