✨ Step Up: Stocks Poised to Shine

Good Morning, Traders!…👋

U.S. stock futures are sharply lower Monday as investors face growing doubts that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates anytime soon. Friday’s hotter-than-expected jobs report has rattled Wall Street, reinforcing the Fed’s case for keeping borrowing costs elevated—a move that could pressure the market’s lofty valuations.

Investor sentiment could worsen this week with Wednesday’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, which is expected to show a rise in inflation for December. A higher reading would further support the Fed’s decision to hold rates steady. Markets are bracing for deeper losses after stocks tumbled in reaction to Friday’s strong nonfarm payrolls data.

Meanwhile, bond yields continue their upward climb, with the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield rising to 4.799% and the 2-year yield ticking up to 4.428%.
