Good Morning, Traders!…👋
U.S. stock futures climbed on Tuesday, boosted by optimism that a potential reprieve from auto tariffs could lift sentiment ahead of the next round of corporate earnings.
On Monday, U.S. stocks rose after a particularly volatile week for the markets.
This rally followed news that the Trump administration would treat tariffs on key electronics separately from duties on specific countries, with the tariffs to be imposed at a later date. The president also floated the idea of possible tariff exemptions for car companies, which helped send auto stocks soaring.
However, clarity around Trump’s trade policies remains elusive, as he also moved forward with plans to impose tariffs on pharmaceutical and semiconductor imports.
Traders are keeping a close eye on any early signs of how the ongoing tariff turmoil might affect corporate profits, as well as any guidance companies can offer for the upcoming quarters.
